The Governor's House is the most complete private accommodation at Rhino Watch Safari Lodge. A full two-storey residence with its own entrance and its own life, it gives you the run of a lounge with a wood-burning fireplace, a private bar, a fully equipped kitchen, a private dining room and a bedroom suite that takes up the entire upper floor.

Ground floor living is unhurried. The lounge settles around a log-burning stove with sofas, armchairs and a bookshelf stocked for long evenings. The dining room seats a group comfortably at a long table with bench seating. The bar and kitchen sit open behind a timber-framed hatch, with Edison bulbs strung from rope beams and every utensil you could need.

Upstairs, the bedroom is spacious and warm, with a large bed, chandelier lighting, wraparound windows and a timber headboard backed with African woven art. Through the suite, the bathroom has a bathtub in its own room, a glass shower enclosure, a driftwood-framed mirror and twin wall sconces. A hammock balcony with deep red walls and floor-to-ceiling glazing wraps around the outside, looking out over the grounds and toward Mt Kenya.
